2017 Outlook: Ben Roethlisberger

Forget the retirement talk — Ben Roethlisberger is back in his familiar spot under center for the Steelers, right where Fantasy owners want him. Loaded with pass catchers, Roethlisberger should continue racking up stats as long as he stays healthy. That’s been a small issue for him over his career, never missing more than four games in a season. The bigger detail that’s hurt him is his inability to play big on the road. In 2016 he averaged twice as many points in Pittsburgh (31.0) as he did away (14.8). In fact, he was straight money at home and downright terrible in five of eight road games. Even with favorable road trips to Cleveland, Cincinnati, Indy, Chicago and Detroit on the horizon, there will be weeks where Roethlisberger carries risk. Of course he should be picked as a Fantasy starter, right around Round 8, but do yourself a favor and collect a second quarterback for weeks when Big Ben has a suspect road matchup, or for when he’s hurt.
