Report: Real Madrid's Cristiano Ronaldo eyeing a return to Manchester United

As the rumors over Cristiano Ronaldo’s future at Real Madrid continue to swirl due to recent tax fraud issues in Spain, there is one strong potential landing spot that has surfaced for the veteran superstar — and it is his old stomping grounds. According to Sky Sports, Ronaldo is “interested in the possibility of returning to Manchester United this summer.”

That makes sense for many reasons. For starters, it’s his former club which he cares for dearly. Also, the manager is fellow Portuguese man Jose Mourinho, who coached him at Real Madrid from 2010-13. And most importantly, United (named the richest soccer team on the planet by Forbes) has the money and assets (David de Gea possibly?) to make the move. If he was going to leave the Spanish capital, the clear favorite would be the Red Devils of Manchester.

Now, we will have to wait and see what happens, but the fact that reports all over Europe are starting to surface about Ronaldo’s desire to leave the Spanish capital is slowly building credibility to the rumor. The transfers window is open until the end of August, so if a move were to happen, it would likely go down in the coming months.
